16 Visayas provinces to gather in Capiz for 2nd "One Visayas" celebration

CITY, Feb. 17 (PNA) – The province of Capiz will play host to the
gathering of 16 provinces from the islands of Visayas as they showcase
their distinct arts, history, culture and festivals.
The
event now on its second year, the ‘ONE Visayas Celebration,’ will
gather the best of the best from Eastern, Central and Western Visayas
as a follow up of its successful staging in Cebu City last year.
The
celebration with a theme ““Heroes and Nationalism” will be featuring
songs, dances, theater, arts and culture, foods and products of
participating provinces.
The
four day summit that will kick off on March 11 will be capped by a ‘One
Visayas Summit’ that focuses on the use of information and
communication technology (ICT) in promoting and preserving culture,
arts and heritage and heroes and distinguish families of the three
Visayas regions.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is expected to grace the big celebration. (PNA)
